So, where was I?
That three-week job stretched into my normal seasonal job, which went on until last Friday. So, I had six months of working full time (often more than full time) along with all of my other writing.
Then there was the break-in back in April, which really left me sour for a couple of months. Apart from having to replace a door (and rebuild the wall to make it stronger) where the thieves broke in, I also lost my big TV (the second time that TV in particular has been stolen), along with my PS3 and XBox 360 (the second time for those, though not the same ones as before).
Among all of that, along with house work and maintaining a garden that has grown to cover my entire backyard, the topics at the center of this blog have been far from my mind.
Not anymore. I've been able to slowly re-engage with my geek life. So, over the months I have:
Finished The Wheel of Time series.
Mostly enjoyed the second half of the Doctor Who season.
Mainly enjoyed Star Trek Into Darkness, though it was pretty silly.
Am almost done painting a massive Warriors of Chaos army for Warhammer.
Read Neil Gaiman's stunning new novel, The Ocean at the End of the Lane.
Have read the first half of Iain Banks' final book, The Quarry.
Most recently, I have replaced my PS3, just in time to download this year's edition of Duels of the Plainswalkers, the Magic: The Gathering video game.
I picked up a new geek pursuit, trading cards, in the aftermath of the break-in, as I was looking for something small and not particularly attractive to most thieves.
I even started replaying Portal 2, the game that was in my old PS3 when it was stolen. On the downside, I have to start Skyrim all over again. Oh dear.
